Key Defender Aden Baldwin Extends Contract with Bradford City

Signing a New Deal

League One club Bradford City have received a significant morale and tactical boost by retaining the services of influential defender Aden Baldwin. The former Notts County player, who joined in the summer of 2024, has signed a new two-year contract that includes an option for a further year.

Baldwin, having made 76 appearances for City, played a pivotal role in helping the club secure promotion from League Two during his first season at the club. He continued to impress last term as Bradford City qualified for the play-offs in League One.

Player and Manager's Views

Aden Baldwin expressed his delight at extending his stay with the club: “I am delighted to extend my stay here. It is a really good feeling. I just want to carry on from where we left off last season and continue that upward trend. I am really happy.” He also highlighted the support he receives from the coaching staff, stating, “It has been a rollercoaster ride; it has not always been plain sailing as we all know, but I have really enjoyed it. I like the way I play here; the gaffer can see me in multiple areas as well, so I can be utilised in various positions. That shows the faith he has got in me, not just him, but ‘Skip’ (Chris Lucketti) and ‘Truey’ (Mark Trueman) too, who all work tirelessly at the training ground with us.”

Manager Graham Alexander added: “We have created a consistency here which is so important to any club wanting to have prolonged improvement. Keeping players and staff we feel can continue that journey is very important. Aden has done great these last two seasons, but I believe there is more to come from him. The extension gives us the time to help him get better.”

The contract extension ensures that Baldwin will remain a key player for Bradford City as they aim to build on their recent successes and continue their upward trajectory in League One.
