Powell Extends Stay at Bradford City
New Contract for Midfielder Nick Powell
Nick Powell has signed a new one-year deal to remain with Bradford City for another season. The 32-year-old midfielder joined the Bantams from Stockport County last summer, making his debut in August after recovering from a six-month hamstring injury.
Last season, Powell played in 14 games for Bradford City following his return from injury. His pre-season performances have been particularly noteworthy, as he netted goals against Halifax Town, SV Gmunden, Preston North End, and Salford City. These efforts have earned him the opportunity to sign a new contract with the club.
Bradford manager Graham Alexander praised Powell's commitment: "Nick's decision to come back in pre-season and show what he can offer proved his desire to everyone here."
Manager’s Praise for Powell
Graham Alexander, who has been at the helm of Bradford City since 2018, expressed his satisfaction with Powell's contributions. The manager highlighted how Powell's return from injury and subsequent performances have solidified his position in the team.
"Nick Powell has shown great determination and resilience throughout his time here. His goal-scoring form during pre-season is a testament to his fitness and desire to contribute to our squad," said Alexander.
The new contract will keep Powell at Bradford City until the end of the 2023-24 season, ensuring continuity in midfield for the Bantams as they aim to build on their recent performances.
