Why it matters for Bradford City
Alexander said: “Sam came to speak to me late on Wednesday and we had a real good chat. I’ve got the weekend to think everything through. His family live down south and he’s got two young children. He’s been away with us for two-and-a-half years and he was actually away for a year-and-a-half before that. That’s a big chunk of time and he has a potential opportunity. He just wanted to get my thoughts on it and I needed a couple of days.”
What comes next?
Alexander added: “If Sam’s still here on day one after the window, I’ll be delighted. He’s been nothing but magnificent for this club, an absolute diamond guy and a goalkeeper. But things can change and we have to do what’s right for Bradford first and foremost. But I always take into account the player’s feelings on it as well.”
