A seven-year-old Bradford City supporter has been named a finalist for a national content creator award. Pippa Powell, from Idle, has been shortlisted in the Best Young Content Creator category at this year's Content Creator Awards for her growing library of online football videos.
Pippa attends nearly every Bradford City game, home and away, with her family. She records footage during matches, edits it at home, and adds her own commentary and feedback on the team's performance. Her journey began during the 2024/25 season and has since attracted a loyal audience. Her mother, Eleanor Powell, said the family initially did not know what she meant by wanting to make football videos. She explained they decided to try it, and from that point it expanded.
Her efforts have already brought recognition. She attended the awards in Leeds last year and won a bronze. This year, she is a finalist, with voting open until early October and the ceremony set for November. The family has also been invited to events by other clubs. Earlier this year, Pippa was invited pitch-side at a Wigan Athletic match, where she helped announce the teams to supporters over the stadium microphone. Her mother remarked it was lovely people had noticed her work.
Pippa's online presence is carefully managed by her family, who oversee all uploads and interactions on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Her mother says the experience has been overwhelmingly positive. She stated they are comfortable because they are in control, and Pippa loves it. The family hopes her success could open future doors in sports broadcasting, with Pippa herself dreaming of one day working on Sky Sports.
Her passion for the Bantams comes as the team enjoys a strong start to the League One season. Bradford City currently sit first in the table with 15 points from seven games, one point clear of Sheffield Wednesday. They are on a four-game winning run, with their latest victory a 1-0 away win at Luton on September 19. Fans can also check the latest standings to follow the team's progress at the top of the league.
