Bradford City AFC has struck a landmark long-term partnership with Mbanq, the US banking technology firm, that will see Valley Parade renamed Mbanq Valley Parade in one of the club’s biggest commercial deals ever.

What’s the deal?

The agreement goes beyond a standard stadium naming rights contract. Mbanq will base its UK operations in Bradford while exploring ways to use its financial infrastructure to improve the supporter experience. The partnership also commits Mbanq to Bradford’s community, with plans to build local relationships and use the city as an innovation hub for community-focused financial services. As of today, Bradford City sits 4th in League One with 77 points from 46 games, 26 points behind league leaders Lincoln.

Vlad Lounegov, Mbanq’s CEO, said: “We picked Bradford because this is a true football city. The club is woven into the community, and its supporters show extraordinary loyalty. We want this to add long-term value, not replace tradition.”

Davide Longo, Bradford City’s general manager, added: “Mbanq understands our city and our club. They’re committed to the district, and we’re excited to work with them.”

Why does this matter for Bradford City?

This deal marks one of the most significant commercial partnerships in the club’s history. Unlike consumer banks, Mbanq builds the tech and compliance systems that let banks and fintechs offer regulated products. The firm will explore how its expertise can enhance matchday and off-field experiences for supporters. Mbanq will also establish permanent UK operations in Bradford and West Yorkshire, supporting growth in tech, operations, and business development.

The partnership reflects a shared belief that innovation should strengthen tradition. Valley Parade is one of English football’s most historic grounds, and Mbanq’s name will now sit alongside that heritage.

What happens next?

Mbanq will set up shop in Bradford, hiring locally and building ties with institutions. Any new financial services developed from the partnership will need regulatory approvals before launch. For now, the focus is on embedding the brand and exploring supporter-focused tools. With Bradford City chasing promotion, the timing adds extra local buzz to the deal.
