Bradford City will host Burnley in the Carabao Cup second round at Valley Parade. Graham Alexander's men will face his former club in the week beginning Monday, August 24. It will be the first time City have taken on the Clarets in a competitive game since March 2004 when Ian Thomas-Moore scored a last-minute winner for Burnley against Bryan Robson's side. Bantams chief Alexander played 178 games for Burnley, including Premier League football at the age of 37. Speaking ahead of the draw, he had hoped for another home game following on from Saturday's 2-0 victory over Rochdale. "The draw is random, so it's make-belief if I say I'd like to take these on," he said. "I just see it as another game that we want to try and win. But we haven't played that many cup games at home. It would be exciting to bring a top club to Valley Parade. We've done it in pre-season playing the Championship clubs each year and we've handled ourselves well. That would be nice."
