Bradford City are poised to win the race for outgoing Dundee goalkeeper Jon McCracken, who is seeking a new challenge in England, with the Bantams close to striking a deal. The 26-year-old is a free agent with his deal at Dens Park due to expire at the end of the month. McCracken is keen to test himself in England again having joined Dundee from Norwich City in the summer of 2024. He was loaned to the likes of Stevenage and Accrington Stanley during his Norwich days. Bradford City's goalkeeping department currently has Sam Walker as the number one, but McCracken could provide stern competition. Joe Hilton acted as the understudy last term but was released in the aftermath of Bradford's League One play-off semi-final heartbreak. Graham Alexander's side have been busy in the summer transfer window, signing midfielder Adam Phillips from Barnsley and forward Jake Beesley from Burton Albion. There have been outgoings too, with midfielders Max Power, Jenson Metcalfe, and Tommy Leigh joining Wigan Athletic, Millwall, and Bristol Rovers respectively. Reporter Alan Nixon claims Bradford are close to winning the race for McCracken's signature. The signing would be a significant boost for the Bantams as they look to build on their League One play-off semi-final appearance last season. McCracken's experience in England, having played for Norwich City, will be valuable for Bradford City. The club's fans will be eager to see how McCracken performs and whether he can help the team achieve their goals this season.
