Bradford City have appointed Antoni Sarcevic as their new club captain, with Graham Alexander praising his leadership and professionalism. The 31-year-old midfielder has been a key player for the Bantams, helping the team to a 4th-place finish in League One last season with 77 points from 46 games. Sarcevic said: “It is a proud moment in my career to be named the captain of this fantastic football club. Just representing Bradford City as a player is already a massive privilege, so to be given this responsibility is a major honour for me, but also for my family.” Graham Alexander added: “Before giving the captaincy to Antoni, I could see he was already the leader of this squad with his experience, professionalism and high desire to win. He has the full respect of all his teammates and staff and understands the importance of the role. Antoni will be well supported by the other top professionals we have in this group, and they all understand the responsibility they carry to maintain the culture we have. I am delighted he was very proud to accept this opportunity.”
