New contract keeps Sarcevic at the club until 2028
Bradford City captain Antoni Sarcevic has signed a one-year contract extension that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2028. The 34-year-old joined the Bantams from Stockport County in 2024 and has already scored 18 goals in 73 appearances, including the decisive strike that secured promotion from League Two in May 2025.
A captain who feels at home
Sarcevic was named Bradford’s new captain shortly before the start of the current season. In a statement on the club’s website he said, “I have been here for two years and they have been unbelievable. Following last season and how we have started so far this year, it is exciting and I am over the moon to be here.” His comments underline the sense of belonging he feels after a relatively short spell at the club.
Manager praises leadership
Manager Graham Alexander welcomed the extension, noting that “we need leaders and examples for people to follow, and Antoni does that every day.” He added that the club is “very happy we get to work with him for another couple of seasons at least.” Alexander’s remarks come as Bradford have won all three of their competitive games this month, a run that has bolstered the team’s confidence.

Since arriving, Sarcevic has been a consistent goal-scoring threat, with 18 goals across 73 appearances. His promotion-clinching goal in May 2025 remains a highlight of his time at Valley Parade. The new contract, which will see him remain until summer 2028, ensures that the club retains a player who has already become a central figure in the squad’s recent successes.
