Bradford City have signed Jake Beesley on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee. The 29-year-old striker was named player of the season by his team-mates at Burton Albion last year. He scored 13 goals in his debut campaign for the club. Beesley began his senior career at Chesterfield and has also had spells at Salford City, Solihull Moors, Rochdale and Blackpool before joining Burton last summer. He had a year left on his Burton contract. The arrival of Beesley comes as 35-year-old Andy Cook departs the West Yorkshire club, released after scoring 80 goals over five seasons. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Grimsby Town. Bradford City reached the League One play-offs in their first season back in the third tier, but lost to Bolton Wanderers, who eventually won promotion.
